The Parish Church of Balderton

Tony Tucker Welcome to our Website. We hope you find it useful and enjoy your visit.

The Church of St Giles has been privileged to serve the community of Balderton for eight centuries. In our day we continue to work to make the love of God, supremely revealed to us in the life of Jesus Christ, known to our parish. At the centre of all we do lies our 9.30am Eucharist and 6.00pm Evensong.

The church is in a prominent position in the village which is now home to some 15,000 people. Some people think the name of “Balderton” was taken from one of the Norse gods. You may like to read more of this on our history page.

For many people especially those seeking to make plans for either baptism or marriage their main contact is with the Parish Surgery, which is held every Tuesday evening 6.00pm – 7.00pm in the Church Vestry. During the period from May – September the church is open weekday afternoons 2.00pm – 4.00pm when visitors are welcome to join us for a cup of tea.

St Giles is a traditional Anglican church. We value our heritage whilst enjoying the best of fresh expressions of worship, and extend a warm welcome to all our visitors.

Please do take time to join us, you are assured of a warm welcome.

Tony Tucker
